Ages seen and areas of focus: children 10 and older, adults, anxiety, depression, ADHD, trauma, life stressors, chronic illness
I work from a strengths-based perspective to provide emotional support for my clients. We work together to set realistic and attainable goals for the changes they want to see in their lives. I help clients to center themselves, develop self-care practices that are sustainable, and work through issues or changes that are getting in the way of their physical and mental wellbeing.
I have a special interest in helping those who struggle with their mental health as a result of a chronic illness, specifically type 1 diabetes, whether newly diagnosed and needing help with the transition, or struggling with the burnout caused by managing an illness every day. I believe that empathy is a large part of the therapeutic relationship, and as someone who has had a chronic illness for over twenty years, I have not only clinical knowledge, but personal experience as well.
I have completed EMDR therapy training and am excited to bring this intervention into my work with clients.
