Specific Treatment Models

Perinatal Mood and Anxiety Disorder treatment is available to help expecting and new parents address trauma, anxiety, depression, and other mood symptoms during this significant phase of life. All therapists at The Center for Family Wellness are trained to provide support for those struggling with their mental health during pregnancy and the first twelve months after the birth of their child. Perinatal mental health services are available not only for the birthing parent, but for their partner as well.

Attachment and Biobehavioral Catch-up (ABC) is an evidence-based parenting intervention for caregivers of infants and toddlers who have experienced early adversity. The ABC intervention is available for infants between 6 and 24 months of age, and for toddlers between 24 and 48 months.

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy is an extensively researched, effective psychotherapy method proven to help people recover from trauma and other distressing life experiences. EMDR is used to treat PTSD, depression, anxiety, and other mental health concerns. Rather than focusing on changing the emotions, thoughts, or behaviors resulting from distressing experiences, EMDR allows the brain to resume its natural adaptive healing process.

Child-Parent Psychotherapy (CPP) is therapy for young children from birth through age five and their parents/caregivers that focuses on supporting family strengths and relationships, helping families heal and grow after stressful experiences while integrating family and cultural values.
